Biography:
Cathy Madson Harmston is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who graduated with her Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) from Salt Lake Community College in 1992. She got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Weber State in 2004 after which she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Utah in 2006. Cathy spent 10 years working as an emergency room nurse at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah prior to pursuing her BSN and MSN degrees. Cathy has worked as an FNP in the family practice, internal medicine, and pain management settings. She teaches at the Annie Dee Taylor School of Nursing at Weber State University and provides primary and palliative care to patients of all ages.
Cathy served as the Utah Nurse Practitioner legislative chair from 2016-2018. She is a member of the Utah Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. She is a Fellow with the Academy of Integrative Pain Management.
Cathy is the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Madson. Her grandparents were James and Idonna Madson, and Howard and Donna Vanderwood. Cathy and her husband Nate enjoy traveling and restoring their small home in Malad. They are the proud parents of six grown children. They currently live in Ogden, Utah.
